New Skylark Owner

Hello all!

We picked up our 2012 Skylark on thursday evening and hit a state park about 15 minutes away for friday and saturday evening. It is the model with the kitchen up front, I forget the model number at the moment.

We really like the trailer. After this weekend, only 2 negatives. One being that even with ample storage, we wish there was a small shelf by the main bed. Another is that the cushions don't stay together when the dinette is converted to a bed. My daughter found herself laying on the boards.

Oh, another issue, though not directly related to the Jayco is the sway. Wow! it is really bad on my 2011 Jeep Liberty. I will be getting an anti sway device, or if needed, a leveling hitch with the device on it.

Thanks! (had a few threads open in different windows and put this in the wrong one initially)

This is our second camper. We just traded in our Jayco 806 in on the skylark. What a difference.

Congrats on your new Skylark Zombied. Installing a shelf over the main bed shouldn't be too hard. And Velcro on the the cushion backs and dinette seats might help hold them in place.

Thanks guys. Already have a roll of velcro tape. Next time we go out, it will be put to use. Kinda like bailing wire and duct tape. They can fix anything.

Best of luck with the new Skylark. Own the same trailer and am very happy with it to this point. I installed a Reese Straight Line Weight Distribution hitch with dual cam sway bar and it tows like a dream. I pull it with a Toyota 4 runner. If you look at the photo album under my name you will find a photo of that setup. Good Luck, wish you and your family much enjoyment with your new trailer.

Hey thanks rog4kneer. The sway really made the wife nervous. I will check out that set up. She I am hooked up on a level surface, the tt is leaning back a bit. Maybe that is causing sway too...
