New to camping - 26BHW

We are new to camping but have a young daughter and wanted to start something as a family together. After giving it some thought we decided to buy a travel trailer so we could always go out together and bring a piece of home with us.

We looked and looked for a while at new and used and ended up getting a 2015 Jay Flight SLX 26BHW. We have not picked it up yet, plan is to get it in two weeks because I'm out of town on business and before I left there was snow all over the place and I didn't want to get it then. We are definitely excited.

Our tow vehicle is a 2010 Ford F-150 with the tow package and factory brake controller. I also ordered the Blue Ox WDH with sway control.

I've been lurking around for a few weeks and figured I'd go ahead and say hey.

Edit: 264BHW

Welcome. It's a great trailer for a small, young family. My boys 2 and 3 1/2 love camping in ours, even if it's just 2 days at the local campsite.

Welcome. Our absolute best camping memories were around our son growing-up tent-trailering! Now that we have our new TT, guess who inherited the pop-up!

Welcome to the forum. Though I have camped all my life and gone from tent rigs to TT to 5th wheel, to cabover, to tent, and not back to TT; I figure I have a lot of experience and knowledge, but I definitely do not know it all, and I am always willing to learn more. There are some great ideas, tips and tricks to be learned here. No matter how silly you think a question might sound, check in here and search. I am sure you will find an answer. As well, please post anything you feel might help others. Even old timers like me can learn something from a first timer.

Finally got our camper home this weekend! First trip is planned next weekend to a site within 10 miles of us for 2 nights. Our 2 year old is so excited about the bottom bunk bed. Took me a couple times to get it backed in the driveway but I'm getting the hang of it. I'll post a pic when I figure out how to

My kids fought over the bunk on top. Sounds good! Remember to walk around your trailer and check before getting underway! This has bitten me (a new TT owner) a couple times in last 5 months as I keep rushing. And watch low hanging tree branches!
