New to forum!

Hi, we're new to this forum. We've been looking at a Jayco Feather Ultra Lite 197 and hope to get one soon. We love camping but the tent is just not enough...or maybe we're getting too "old"

We are tent campers from the 60s.... It's nice having more inside space I guess but I still get a few tent camping trips in and still enjoy it very well. I'm 72 now - I'm thinking you never get too old...

I was raised in a three room farm house with a tin roof so sleeping in a tent when it is raining in the best medicine you could ever use. Tent coffee is still the best.

This is much like my tent setup except we usually had a large tarp over the whole tent and made a nice front patio area. We would have a regular TENT CITY setup under large 30'x30' tarps when several of us would be tent camping together.

Welcome from Northwest Indiana. We started in a tent, bought a pop-up when we had kids & are enjoying our first Jayco travel trailer that we bought last year when we decided to get back to camping. Can't be the convience & comfort.

Wow, That reference to "Tent Coffee" stirred some great memories. Especially on a cold morning foggy monring and the Coleman White Gas stove on the picknic table. We still use the "perculator" on the coleman outside our 351 RLTS here in FL. Some habits die hard. Thats a good thing.

OOps, forgot to say welcome and happy shopping. You will enjoy the RV. Tent coffee is great, but so is the AC and heat.:hihi:

We camp at Westmoreland State Park alot here in VA which is about 25 miles from the house. They have one camp ground section where tents and electric hookups are co-located. I will occasionally get a tent site right next to the electric site for the trailer and setup my big tent. Before long it is filled up under the canopy around the patio with the old timers all drinking my good ole fresh made bean coffee hehe... They bring their own easy chair haha...

We usually get the same electric site everytime we go and its the last electric site before the tent sites start. Everytime we get setup we look up and there is a tent guy holding an long extension cord asking "can I hook up to your electric pedestal" of course he can... I was walking back in there on one trip and the extension cord was extended to about six tent sites haha... Glad all they really wanted to run a light or keeping their air mattress pumped up... Of course it was on a separate circuit breaker in the pedestal but I don't recall them ever tripping the breaker hehe...

I guess we all were tent campers at first so the memories still linger on...

We're currently only camping only while reenacting (Civil War). My man gets up very early and stokes the campfire and starts the coffee...gotta have that coffee. And there's something about food cooked over that fire and enjoyed in the open air! I remember asking my mom why we ate so much while camping (Dad designed and built his own trailer camper...it was neat) and she said it was all the fresh air we were out in
