Wow. So they make an electronic version (12VDC controlled) propane only?

Whoda thunk?

When you get to upgrading you water heater, access the back of it and look for some 120VAC wiring.

I'm thinking more and more that's the case, Mike. With no shore power and battery only the burner "whooshes" on. With shore power, the burner "whooshes" on as well. I'll post a pic of the switch panel beside the sink if I can figure out how to load one.

+1

I wouldn't think it was an on-demand water heater in the Swift/SLX version though. I mean, they're a little less appointed, but they're not THAT stripped down, at least not a couple years ago when I was looking. I also didn't know Jayco even installed the Atwoods without the electric option.

How much was the kit? I wouldn't think the cost savings of a propane only over a dual heat WH would be so great.

Interesting. Looking forward to the conclusion.

BTW, welcome to JOF OP!

Welcome to the forum!

I have to agree with the others - find it hard to believe they went to a gas only...
