Welcome to JOF! There are a lot of expertise and resources on this site. Although your 5th Wheel model has just been released for the first time this year, the questions you may have are probably not foreign to any of us.
Once you have taken your new baby on a maiden voyage, the real fun/work will start to work its way in. The maiden voyage (or shakedown trip) will reveal some minor and/or discrepancies, that will warrant you (or your dealer) to correct/fix, them.
Some of post-voyage inspection you may want to do include:
- Check lug nuts on all wheels for proper torque
- Check air pressure in all tires; look for any abnormal tread wear
- If your trailer will be sitting in temperatures below 40 degrees this winter, make sure you know how to winterize your plumbing system.
- Check all sink drain pipes and water supply lines, making sure there are no visible leaks and the drain pipes are fully tighten.
- Thoroughly wash out your black tank before storing it for the winter.
These are just some of the food-for-thought items; there may be more upon your inspection and/or walk arounds.
Again, welcome and enjoy your new trailer. Don't forget there is also a Jayco Fifth Wheel (closed) group on Facebook as well!
