New to Jayco Forum

Howdy from west Texas.
We just ordered an Eagle 298 RLDS and can't wait to start our great RV adventure.

We have tent camped before with our kids... been through all those "bonding times" with wind & rain blowing down the tent & moving to the suburban to sleep & dirt in food, etc. We even had a small camper (mainly for deer camp) several years ago.

But last summer we went camping with our friends at church (we stayed in a nearby motel... I've often told friends that Marie's idea of roughing it is "slow room service" but she is a real trooper, a supporter & an encourager & the love of my life!).
Anyway, we got "the RV bug" so did a lot of research & looking & talking to our friends before buying the Eagle.
We know it will be lot's of fun & not without some lessons to learn.

We read a lot on this forum... good folks & wisdom & experiences... we look forward to the great adventure.

FWIW I'm an architect with my own practice. Marie works with me (bookkeeping in the afternoons).
In addition to my architecture practice we started a home building business 8 years ago.
Our youngest son runs it... he has been building homes for the last 14 years & has a passion for home building. He does a marvelous job with it.
I could be retired but haven't gotten tired the first time so cannot be re-tired... yet.
We have 4 grown kids (2 of each with the boys in the middle) and 10 grand kids... what a blessing all!
We enjoy birding & I do a little deer hunting.

Anyway thanks in advance for all good ideas & help with our new RV!

Blessing to all & may you have a joyous & peaceful Christmas!

Healthi... Thanks for the quick response. Our Eagle should be in production at Jayco in mid Feb. '13 & we should take delivery in late Feb. (hopefully). Our dealer is Crestview RV in Buda, TX (south of Austin) which is 350 miles from us. They have the 1st night free in their campground after the tech walks us through all the details of the Eagle. They have been great to work with so far.

Hello from another West Texan (about an hour north of you). Welcome to Jayco Owners Forum. You, like many of us here, have started out in tents and moved up. You will really appreciate the RV when it rains during future camp-outs, or depending where you camp, when you have bears sniffing around at 1 in the morning. Glad you are a part of our bunch here at JOF. Post often.
