New to Jayco Forum

Hello all. New here. My wife and I just became owners of a lightly used 2012 Jayco JayFlight 26BH. We owned a pop-up once before, but we grew up. Looking forward to learning tips and tricks from the veterans out there. Happy camping.

Welcome! We started with a PU, too. Awesome camper, even with 4 or 5 kids. It was a tight fit, but worked out well. Then more children and we moved up to a TT. Now we're on our third TT, planning ahead for grand kids.

Hello, congrats! One tip I picked up was to get one of those lightweight weaver plastics outdoor mats (we bought our at Walmart for $50) and a plastic tarp to go under it. The mat takes up all the sandy dirt from getting into the camper, and the tarp keeps the mat off the dirt directly making packing up faster. Another trick I found was to add short tarps above the slide outs with the silver side up, this keeps the pop-up cooler even if you have air conditioning. Sew velcro to the top side of the tarp and staple the felt side under the top. Also make some straps to hold the tarps around the bump-outs.
Have a great time!
