New to Jayco, not new to trailering
Just thought I'd introduce myself.
A few weeks ago, my wife and I returned to camping after a couple year hiatus spent on cruise ships. Well, that's not happening anytime soon, so we decided to dust off the old Fleetwood 280FKS.
We had originally looked at a Jayco 34rsbs in 2017 when our old Fleetwood suffered some damage in a campground and were seeking out potential replacements. Much to our surprise, the insurance company coughed up the $15k in repairs so we soldiered on with the Fleetwood.
On the way to the campground, we got talking about that 34RSBS and how much we loved it. Campground Internet is dangerous when your wife is in bed. I found a 2020 34RSBS five minutes up the road. We decided to go take a look thinking we would never be able to afford it. Big mistake (maybe). We got a generous trade in allowance and discount on the new one and we could afford it after all.
So, the rest is history. We love the new trailer and layout. It's stunning. Next step is to add some sway control as its a bit of a handful even for my F350 in the wind, but mechanically the truck hauls it fine. Weight distribution alone isn't cutting it like it did with the old Fleetwood, but, after all, I have added 6 feet and 3000lbs behind me.
Only regret so far is that we didn't do this 3 years ago.
