Smile New to RV, 2018 Jayco Feather 23RL

Hi all;
We are first time RV (travel trailer) owners, and recently purchased a used 2018. We are hitting the road for our first trip this coming week. A very easy trip, campground at Fort Wilderness at Disney. Looking forward to this first camping trip in the unit to know what, if any, mods are needed (besides my husband replacing the TV with a larger one and installing the DirectTV). Looking forward to the experience.

Acclimating our 6 years old black lab to RV Life adds another dimension to things. He does experience separation anxiety, and I'm a bit concerned about him scratching out the screen door when we leave him alone. For now, we'll use paint tape to put up a heavy cardboard, and monitor him on the doggy cam.

We also have a 2001 AdventureCraft Houseboat, and have camped in RV Parks in that but climbing the ladder in/out is a pain. The Jayco is a much easier tow with our 1999 Ford Expedition, but so far we have been happy with our trailering experiences.

Anyway, Cheers and Happy Travels!
Call me the wanderer.

Measure the screen door and get some thin plexy glass cut to size and clip it in place so the doggy doesn’t rip your screens - best of luck with your new rig!

In addition to the above, some doggie downers from your vet may help while you are away from him.
