New to RV Camping

Hello.

My family and I have been camping our whole lives, but recently have needed to move out of the tent and into a trailer. We are in the search for our ideal trailer and looking forward to years of continued camping.

Thanks for this community! I look forward to getting to know you and sharing my experiences with you.

Welcome to the forum.

Tent -> RV

We made the transition in 2009 for the flush toilet, hot shower and a dry place when it rains.

Lots of things to consider here. What type of camping? How many people? What seasons are you thinking of using it in? Dry camping or primarily hooked to utilities? Those are just a couple. We live in ours, so we have a 42 foot Seismic. Looking at mike837go's sig, looks like he has a great setup for going anywhere you want to, whereas I am limited to larger places. There are many many things in between. Ask a lot of questions and don't be afraid to look dumb . We have all been there. Getting that list of priorities together first may help you narrow it down some as well. And camper shows. Go to as many as you can so you can sit in many campers. Good Luck, and welcome!

WOOHOO! Welcome! A couple of things I didn't realize until we started looking for campers:

1. Some parks (manly state/national parks) have 30' limits.
2. If you're looking at used campers, many parks make you send in pictures before you can reserve if your rig is older than 10 years.
3. Be prepared to spend a good chunk of change on gear to stock your RV.
4. The helpfulness of this group is worth its weight in gold! I've learned so much by searching and asking questions. (Read the stickys on each forum. Great info on getting the best price, etc)

Can't wait to see what you decide on!
