New to the group and have a question :)

Hi!! My name is Tiffany....Im new to this group so Thanks for the add!! We just bought a used 1997 Jayco Heritage Pop Up from a friend. The camper is in almost new condition and we LOVE it, however, we are having an issue with the sink....There is a black hose/pipe type thing under the camper in the back on the left side. When my husband turns the water on it drains out of this "thing" When it drains out of this thing the water will not turn on in the sink inside but if he plugs it with a screw the water works inside but drains VERY slowly but if he takes the screw out it drains fine......we have no idea what is wrong.....I have attached a picture of the tube thats underneath the camper.....

Welcome to the forum, I am sure you will find a ton of good info here.
My guess is that this is the low point drain for draining the system.

When you say "turns on the water" do you mean at the sink or at the hose running to the camper?

Also draining, you mean from the sink out, correct?

When he connects the hose to the city water spout in the back of the camper and we turn it on from the spicket it just spills out that black hose/tube thing underneath.....but it wont run inside at all......but if he plugs the tube/hose thingy up then the water runs inside but drains super slow.....

It sounds like the water drains directly out therefore, none can make it up to the faucet. Slow drain may be a vent clogged or a clog in the drain pipe itself. Sounds like your friends made a quick fix.

How do we go about fixing this problem? My husband has had many campers before and he has no idea what this hose/tube underneath is......so we dont know how to even go about fixing it...lol

If your trailer does not have a grey water holding tank then I would believe this is a straight drain like stated.

I would test the draining issue separate from the pressure issue.
Take a bucket of water in and poor it in the sink with nothing connected and see what happens. If that is the low point drain for the water line it shouldn't make any difference if it is plugged or unplugged with water draining.

We do have a grey water holding tank......but thats up front and is not related to the issues we are having in back as the sink water just drains outside and not into a tank. The problem is with this hose/tube thing either draining the water so the sink is un useable or if we plug the hole the sink runs fine but wont drain properly so its an issue with that so Im lost as to what to do.....lol

Sounds like a low point drain is in the open/drain position (the one that is leaking) and the other is in the closed position (the one not leaking).

I would find the low point drain valves and make sure they're closed.

Sounds like you also have a slow draining sink drain. It could be that the grey tank vent is clogged, slowing the drain. Or it could be just buildup in the trap that could be cleaned out.

If it is a low point drain Check inside just above the drain and see if there is a valve that shuts it off either a valve that pulls up/pushes down or a valve that you need to turn. Just a thought
