Hello all from the great white north...
I have been camping all my life with an old 1977 Parkland Banff 500 that my parents bought brand new in 77. they gave my wife and I the old tent trailer when we got married. fast forward a few years and we decided no more tent trailer. We bought a 1986 Golden Falcon 22 foot fifth wheel and towed it with my old 92 Chev half ton, after beating on that poor truck for a few years I found a 2003 Chevy 2500HD Duramax crew cab short box (only 428000km on it to date) and that pulled that little trailer like it wasn't there. Sadly as it turned out there was a long time water leak in the right rear corner that rotted the wood frame out completely, since I knew that was not an insurable item and since it got hail damage last year that I never claimed I made a hail claim and wrote it off.
Now here we are, last week we bought a 1998 Jayco Eagle 26 foot fifth wheel. It's a model 255, I think it's actually a 25.5 foot but I round that up
Very clean trailer, still has the original tires and propane tanks... both of which have got to go. I'm not pulling on the highway with 14 year old tires and I can't even get the propane tanks filled anymore cause they are expired. With 2 kids the bunks beds are awesome! don't have to keep pulling out the couch and knocking down the table.
Going to flip the axles on it this weekend so it tows level and re-pack the wheel bearings, I also have to lower my hitch in the truck as it sits way to high. Put new tires on it next week and hopefully go camping next weekend.
