New to Travel Trailers

Hi all, George from Houston, Texas. Just purchased a 2006 Jayco Jayflight 31 BHS and I'm really looking foward to traveling!!! Don't have much choice...house is being foreclosed on and unemployed. Bought trailer to travel the country and follow whatever work I can find to support my wife and four year old son. Very glad there is a place where I can sit and learn more about enjoying our travel trailer, which stilll needs some work.

Welcome George, sounds like quite an adventure planned. Sorry to hear about your unfortunate circumstances, but things can turn around for the better in a hurry. You have come to the right place to ask questions to get your Jayco roadworthy for your travels. -Lee

Welcome George and here's hoping you find the kind of work you like. You might look into workcamping as a temporary fix. It's always said when one door closes, another door opens.

Welcome to the Jayco Owners Forum George! Sorry to hear about the foreclosure. My DD and her hubby had to do a short sale. They found buyers but the buyers pulled out at the last minute... the kids are hoping it won't go to foreclosure now. Tanker's spot on when he said when one door closes another opens! Keep us apprised of how it's going. Congrats on your "new" tt!

Welcome to the forum. It sounds like you are starting a new page in your life. Some states have better job prospects than others. Idaho with around 11% unemployment is not one of them.

Welcome good luck with your travels. Home is where you hang your hat. My daughter went to school in Dodge City Kansas and they talked about well things were going in Kansas on the TV all the time. Cargill Beef is the biggest employer in Dodge. Good place to start.
