New TT owner, with 248RBSW in California

New owner; never towed trailer before. Making a list of things to try before 'serious' camping. In Northern California, looking for first RV Park to try, then maybe a short jaunt to try dry camping.

First setback on day #1: Couldn't get tongue capture to let loose of hitch ball. Probably due to sloped driveway.

Congratulations on your new travel trailer and welcome to the forum. We were newbies a year ago and thanks to the members on this site, we learned a lot of things related to RVing and our specific motor home. Happy Camping!

Welcome indeed!

I'm still only less than 2 years into my new trailer and just love doing it.

My disconnects were a problem for me, too, at first but I got the swing of it.
Did you get it off yet? Is your drive very steep? It seemed to loosen up for me after the first few tries and I use more force at times than I though would be necessary. I'll still get up on the bumper and hop around a bit.

Pictures of your rig are required.

Cheers,

Jeff

You might try putting the TV in R with your foot on the brake; shift to P; release foot. Sometimes it will take some pressure off. I had to do this with my TT and sometimes with our 5W
