Smile Newbie and Melbourne 24l used

I'm new to the forum and seeking information on the Melbourne 24l. I am a widow and both my children live out of state. I think this would be a great option for my cat and I to travel and visit with. It is a 2017 and has 4,000 miles on it. I am a little concerned about the large slide. It's great for room, but wondering about how it will hold up. Since I will be buying this used from the first time owner, I won't have the 2 year Jayco warranty of the original owner. Looks like a great buy, but all advice and input welcome.

Congratulations! The 24L is a great little motorhome for traveling and visiting family. We have had no issues with the slide. As a precaution, you might consider having a Jayco RV seller in your area do a thorough inspection on the vehicle before purchasing it. Good luck.

Welcome to the forum.

If you don't hear from some Melbourne owners, consider another posting. This is in the 'Welcome Mat' area and has to be read to know you looking for answers to a couple of questions.

Thank you so much for your feed back. I'm excited to start traveling, but taking my time researching. That is an excellent idea and actually the motor home is at a Jayco dealer getting some warranty work done. I will call them on Monday. It was purchased in Ohio, so this isn't the home dealership. The owner said that probably wasn't a good idea on their part. It's been there 10 days and still not completed.

WELCOME TO JOF!!!

The members here are GREAT!!! There is a lot of GREAT information to be found here. I am sure that you will have information and pictures to share with us... so please do!!

Can you ask them what type of Warranty work the RV is in for? As for slow service on RV's, that is the way it is no matter which brand you buy.

Take your time and do your homework, and ask lots of questions here. I would also check pricing on new 2017 models that will come with a warranty. Some sellers are upside down and the selling price may be close to a new one. Did you ask them why they are selling so soon.

They bought it in January. Sounds like the wife didn't enjoy it. She would rather have more time with their grandkids. I want to buy it to have more time with mine! All theirs live in state.
