newbie first time owner

Hello all. Picking up my first Travel Trailer ever this weekend. It is a 2019 Jay Flight 29BHDB. Just wanted to say hello. I'm sure I will have lots of questions as I get more familiar with it. Have a great day.

Congratulations on the new Jay Flight and welcome to the forum.

Hopefully you'll get lots of information BEFORE you pick up the trailer in order for you to complete a thorough PDI (Pre Delivery Inspection). This site has a comprehensive PDI checklist. If you haven't owned/used a trailer before, you may find that there is much you need to learn.

You didn't mention anything about your tow vehicle or the hitch you will be using. Hopefully those won't be a problem for you.

If you have specific questions, just ask. Lots of friendly folks here willing to help.

Thank you for the warm welcome. I really appreciate it. My tow vehicle at the moment is a 2015 dodge ram 1500 with a 5.7. But I'm trading that in for 2500 before we take the trailer anywhere. Not sure on the brand of WDH or the Antis-way bar yet. They will be installing that on the trailer before I pick it up. I got them to throw that into the deal and a back up camera before I would buy it. I waited tell they gave me the sale price before I had them add them that way they couldn't hide it in the sale price. I will definitely read the post on the PDI. Super glad that info is hear. Looking forward to reading and sharing stories and experiences.

Usually dealers throw in cheap WDH's when part of the deal. That is a 9,000lb trailer. If towing with a 1/2 you will want a good WDH. Centerline or BlueOx make great hitches. I have used both and both work well.

I tow my 29' TT with a 1500 RAM and use a BlueOX with 1,000lb bars. It does great! I have over 2,000 miles on my trailer. I have a RAM Rebel with the air suspension so it might be a bit different then a regual RAM. Once you upgrade to 3/4 Ton the WDH will not be as important but I would still use one.

Thanks for the heads up on the wdh. I will check out the one they plan to use before I sign any papers. If I have to pay xtra for a good one I don't mind. Better to be safe than sorry.
