Newbie from east Tennessee

Good evening, campers! I am in the market for our families first camper. My wife and our 5 year old daughter are excited. I grew up camping in a Starcraft pop up and TT in Florida. We were in the camping club, so we travelled a lot as a kid. As I got older, got into scouts and my parents sold the camper. Met my wife about 12 years ago, and she is an avid tent camper. Took our daughter camping for her first time this past summer at Elkmont in the GSMNP and she loved it. My brother started his family in a popup, went to a hybrid, and has been camping in a Surveyor for about 10 years.
I think we have settled on a Jayco hybrid, so I will be lurking around here trying to gather Intel. My goal is to have a camper by April this year. I have a 2012 Silverado crew cab with towing package, so I'm not too concerned with towing.
Thanks!
Wayne

Looking at a 19h or 23b. I like the u shaped dinette but it may be difficult to get up in the middle of the night if someone needs a potty break.

BadB,
We pup camped for many years. Went to an RV show a few years ago and looked at the hybrids (probably more for old times sake), but chose our first hard side instead simply for more room. I (but not DW) do miss the canvas smell however. Good luck with your choice. If you do go with Jayco stay in touch!

Welcome to the Forum and your search for info. When it comes to a Hybrid you will opinions from people who love them and those that don’t. I fall in the category of loving them.

My suggestion is go to a dealer or show and spend as much time as you can in them sit down and try and imagine where you can put things and how your life would flow with your daily routine. It’s you and your family who will be making the memories.
