Newbie Going to Black Hills

Hello Friends. My hubby and I have been tent camping for decades and moved "up" to a camper after having kids. We love our Jayco Jay Flight (owners since 2015). We're planning a month long trip West (from Georgia) this summer and looking for advice on campgrounds near the Black Hills/Mount Rushmore. We have three kids under 11 and a very small dog. Looking to do some sight-seeing and relaxing with a cold drink in our hands! Any suggestions/advice would be appreciated!

There are numerous campgrounds in the Black Hills and most all are very nice. I'd just do an online search and pick something near where you want to be. Do your searching, and if you still have questions ask away.

Good Luck!

Ha! Nope, we're going in June. Georgia to Kentucky to Nebraska to SD - then to Glacier, Yellowstone, Estes Park and back home again.

Welcome to the JOF. Sounds like a great trip. Be sure to also go to the Crazy Horse Memorial. Also take time to go to Devil's Tower in NE Wyoming. It is a short drive from Mt. Rushmore. Last, if time permits, take a drive through Custer State Park. There is a road there called Wildlife Loop that is awesome. We say all sorts of wildlife: buffalo, wild turkey, deer, & prairie dogs.

The wife and I are planning a similar trip, from Calif. If you haven't made reservations yet I would hurry! I made reservations at Yellowstone and Custer SP in South Dakota and was surprised at how fast things were filling up. Buffalo Bill's Museum of the West might be something that interests you.
