Newbies from Pa

Been lurking around this site for some time getting ideas, info, and Tips. Just pulled the Trigger on a new WhiteHawk 27DSRL. Been camping for years starting with Backpacking, then Family style tenting, then a Popup, and now a Travel Trailer. Planning on retiring soon and hitting the National (& State) Parks around the Country.

Welcome to JOF and joining all the other Pennsylvanians, myself included, who hang out here. Hope you enjoy the new WhiteHawk.

We picked up a new 27DSRL Saturday. We like the layout and hope to be happy with the camper when we get it out of the shop. The city water connection and the black water flush connection were plumbed wrong, so when we hooked the water hose to the city water connection it actually went into the black tank. The toilet flooded onto the floor and water came out the vent pipe on the top of the trailer. Now when we try to use the water in the fresh water tank the water instead shoots out of the city water connection. We have talked to Jayco and are hoping to get it fixed next week.
Hope you enjoy your Whitehawk. Good luck.

Welcome to JOF. Just picked up my new 27DSRL 2 weeks ago. Love the layout. What is your TV? I am concerned about long range and hill pulling with my 1/2 ton.

KYCamper, Same setup as yours. I'm thinking it is getting close but we both should be OK. Done a lot of research, conversed with others, spoke to SIL who has a F250 and tows full time for business reasons (He's trying to convert me to a Ford), but still believe we will make it. Time will tell, if not, guess a 2500 is in the future. Hope to see all of you on the road or campgrounds.

Thanks all

A short camping trip west to the more mountainous areas of PA will provide the answer as to the towing capabilities of your TV.

Thanks for the tip. Heading to Lyman Run SP in Potter Co early next month. Hoping that should be a good test as we will traverse many back roads. Then head to western pa.

I've never been to Lyman Run or Potter County, the latter of which refers to itself as being "God's Country".

http://www.pottercountypa.org/

However, I have been to "PA's Grand Canyon" located Tioga County, Potter County's eastern neighbor. It's worth a visit if you've never been there.

If you need info/ideas for anything in western PA, post or send me a PM.

Cool

Finally the new 27DSRL is Home, 9 grueling weeks of waiting. Everything looking good so far. Had fun bringing it home, high winds, rain, & Rush Hour traffic. At least we got to test the seals, roof, windows, slide, etc.

Will be spending tomorrow night in 'Camp Driveway'.

Awww... you got off easy. I had to bring mine home in a snowstorm, but, you brought it home safely and in one piece, and that's the most important thing!

Good luck with it!
