Newby from SE Tennessee

Thank you for the welcome note.

I live in Cleveland, Tennessee, 30 minutes north of Chattanooga. My wife and I retired from Lee University in 2017 after about 16 years there and prior to that we were with Regent University in VaBeach for 17 years. I continue to pastor an Anglican Church that I planted in 2005.

I have recently purchased a 1996 Eagle 5th Wheel 207 SL. Over it is in good shape and apparently kept under cover the majority of its life because of its exterior condition. Because of size and weight I pull it with a 2006 Dodge Dakota Extended Cab 4.7L.

Back in the mid-80's we had a Jayco popup that we and the kids loved.

I have few issues to work out on it such as the propane burner on the refrigerator does not want to stay lit. I runs through the cylcle of firing and has a good flame but apparently if there is a thermocouple to keep it lit it is not working. Poor water pressure in the camper, and the hot water heater fires up but does cannot get any hot water out of it. :-)

But it is a nice camper and will fit our retired lifestyle nicely.

Kind regards.

Congratulations on the Eagle and welcome.

Check the fridge and water heater vents. It's possible bugs of some type have made nests and interfered with the draft.

Try flushing the water heater. It's possible there are hard water deposits slowing the heat transfer.

Re: Water pressure. Is that low pressure using the trailer's pump or low pressure when connected to the 'city' water connection... or both?

Thanks for the advice on the fridge and water heater. I'm also going to check the thermocouple on fridge to make certain it is in the flame.

City water connection. Dribbles out of the shower head when trying to use.
Thanks

I grew up in NW Missouri. Love the rural areas.

Welcome from Oregon! This is a great forum for us newbies--I may not be able to make all the recommended repairs or improvements myself, but at least these wonderful camping buddies give me the language to know what to ask about at the shop! It is a great contribution of time and expertise and much appreciated!
