Picked up a 2018 195RB SLX

The wife and I bought our new Jayco this summer. We used it several times going to our grandson's go-kart races and several campouts. My oldest daughter's family has had a Jayco pop up for a few years. These photos were from last weekend Halloween campout

I've been stalking the forums since finding it a few days ago. The wife and I knew we wanted a smaller trailer but I'm almost having buyer's remorse after seeing the 2019 212QB, for a couple more feet longer and a little wider we may consider an upgrade in a year or 2. I think we'll checkout the Kansas City RV Show in January, who knows maybe we can work a trade in deal. I've been looking at the member's mods and have a couple ideas of my own.

Smile Congratulations Enjoy

Congratulations on your new trailer. I too own a 195RB SLX (2015) which I love. I spend most of my time outside and away for dinner so the size issues you have are not such a big deal for me. I went with my wife's suggestion let's get the smallest unit we like to avoid a big tow vehicle and more difficult driving situations. Either way, enjoy...

We got a 195RB this year, too, and have been extremely happy with it, but it certainly depends on your priorities. Narrower and lighter were very important for us, towing with a 4Runner. We couldn't see around an 8 footer and we certainly couldn't tow another 1000 lbs. Coming from a Chalet a-frame, we just asked ourselves what our trailer didn't have that was important, and the 195 had it all for us.

Tow vehicle was one of the reasons we went with the smaller camper also, I've got an older 4x4 1/2 ton pickup with close to 240,000 miles. We spent most of the time outside during the last couple of campouts and did all the cooking on the campfire, but we were just thinking if the weather turned rainy it would give us a little more sitting room. Our daughter said some of the places they camp won't allow anything over 24' so we wouldn't go much bigger and I'm not ready to buy another truck.

I don't think I'll want to take that big first year depreciation hit so we'll probably keep this another year and see if really need the extra room or not. This size was really handy for short one night trips, we even camped in the parking lot of a casino one night.

Thanks for all the welcomes! I did a lot of tent camping in my younger days, this is our first camper. I'm going to winterize it today and use the air compressor method just in case we decide to take another short trip it will be easier to get ready.

Yes, I use a Honda Pilot 4WD so I am at my limit for the tow which is fine by me for just the two of us.
