Proud Owners of a Jay Feather 29QB and New to the Forum

Hello Fellow Campers.

Greeting to all from Northern New Joysey. Well, today we finally took the plunge and brought home our new 2018 Jay Feather 29Q and are head over heels with it. We are also new to the Forum as you can see this being my 1st post.

We come from a FR Shamrock Hybrid that we traded. Nothing wrong with the hybrid, we had it for almost 4 years, but we wanted hard walls and a bunk room for the kids. The 29QB is the perfect unit for us and we are looking forward to continuing to make great memories with the kids.

Spent plenty of time on the FR Forum forum as well. Looking forward to chatting back and forth with fellow Jaycowners.

Happy Camping!

Welcome and congrats from Michigan. I'd be curious on your TV towing specs (towing capacity and payload rating from your door jamb stickers) with the trailer you have. I'm doing a deeper study of my set up with the anticipated passenger and cargo load for this summer. I think yours may be similar to the thresholds I expect on mine. Enjoy!

Sorry for the delay in responding. Work sometimes interferes.
Anyway, I pull with a 2018 Chevy Tahoe with the Max trailering package. It has a towing capacity of 8400 lbs and has a payload between 1,698 to 1,745 lbs. I got the Equalizer WDH and she pulls like dream. She sits a bit high in the back, but that's because of the airbags which are included in the package. Once hitched, she is perfectly leveled. It also has the integrated brake controller. We haven't loaded all the camping crap in it yet, but we proud ourselves on travelling and packing light. This leaves more room for beer and wine. Once I have it all set, I take it to a scale I have nearby and will get all the numbers. I like being safe so I can enjoy my beer.

Congrats on the new Jay Feather and welcome to the forum. Used to spend time in Mahwah when I worked for a company that had offices in Oakland, NJ and San Jose, California.

Thanks John,

Yes Sir, Mahwah is a nice place. Just a tad different than Sin City. LOL
Be here for a another 6 years. Then once the kids are in college, who knows. Our goal is to spend a week here, 2 weeks over there, another out there and there and there and anywhere we can park this thing.

Congrats! Mike,

So far, all is good with the 29QB. We've been from Cape Cod to Delaware and Virginia and it's been great. We had a little hick-up with a leak in the shower. Turned out the connections behind the shower wall weren't as tight as they should've been. Issue was corrected under warranty. The only issue I have is the thermostat. It's off by almost 4 degrees and it's something I we're going to have to get used to until I replace it. I added additional stabilizers in front of the front wheels on each side and the shaking seems to have minimized greatly.

Anyway, happy camping.
