Recently purchased 2015 Jay Flight 23RB

Just finished our 2nd camping trip in new Jay Flight 23 RB. We love this camper. Perfect for two people and easy to tow. In looking for a new camper wanted a large bathroom and queen size bed which this trailer has. New to this forum, but have found a lot of good information.

We have the very same trailer as you, it's just the right size for the wife and I. We like it very much, it's the best trailer that we've ever owned.

Hi

What are you towing this unit with?

My wife and I are planning to travel from one side of Canada to the other next year. I have been looking very seriously at a Jay Flight 23RB.

Am I right in saying that the entry level F-150, Chevy Silverado 1500 with 4.3L EcoTec3 V6 engine or Dodge RAM with 3.6L V6 will be sufficient for a Jay Flight 23RB?

Thanks,
Roger

I'm towing with a 2012 Silverado LT 1500 4x4 with a 5.3 and it has the heavy duty towing package. To tell you the truth, I wouldn't want to tow my 23RB with anything smaller than what I'm towing with. There's more to consider than just the weight of the trailer.

If it was just the weight on flat roads NO problem, I have done that with an Aerostar V6 160 HP. When you are in hilly or mountain area's you need more power to keep up with the traffic. When you hit a heavy head wind on the prairies what is pretty standard situation, you need lots of power. An over powered vehicle is better then being under powered. If the main flow traffic is going over 100 km and you want to maintain 100 km/63 mi you just need that extra power a V8 offers. A heavy head wind puts a damper on everything even the semi's
