RV Park Livin'

Due to unacceptable increased housing expenses in the Reno area, I decided to buy myself a brand new Jayco Jay Flight Rocky Mtn Edition travel trailer home and move into a much sought after RV Park through next spring (when we all us "long-termers" get the boot!). Looking forward to living minimally and appreciating what really matters . Always open to good full-time winter living tips, since the Tahoe area can get quite chilly! Thanks for the add to this forum.

Welcome to the forum.

We haven't spent a full season in the TT in cold weather, just a few nights. Hopefully you'll hear from someone with more experience with long-term cold in their trailer.

Stuff the outdoor shower enclosure with insulation.
Get a heated water supply hose and insulate the exposed ends at spigot and trailer connection.
If you have the enclosed underbelly, use the furnace as main source of cabin heat.
See if the local propane company will set you up with a 100 lb tank onsite. They'll come by and top it off and bill accordingly. Dump your black and grey tanks as weather permits, regardless of content levels. You may not get another chance for days or weeks.
If needed, install tank heaters and elbow or valve heaters for assurance of dumping.

Keep the snow off the slides, If you get any. As the snow will turn to ice, then when it melts the water will find a way past the seals and into your trailer.
