SHEESH! Another Newbee!

Yep........another greenhorn to stir the pot. Working on a blue-collar budget, so quite a bit of DIY-ing going on here.

Retired in '19, (at 62) and bought a '99 Jayco 24BH Lite Hawk "fixer" just last fall. Had to throw on all four brakes and a water pump. Was quite nice to discover all the other systems working well.
Maiden voyage of boondocking in the Coconino National Forest started in Iowa on May 2nd, three days to Flagstaff, AZ. to visit with wife's family member and see the Canyon for the first time in my life. Also took the time to visit the "Out of Africa" animal park. Left there on the 10th, stopped in to OK city to visit with a mutual friend, and got back late on the 13th.
Had zero critical problems, but did find that I need to add another battery for boondocking. Just didn't have quite enough to run water heater, fridge, furnace, and my CPAP on one battery. I was pleased that the simple solar system I shoestrung together (on a budget) did a quite nice job of recharging, though.

There's more, but I'll stop at this point. Maybe add more details later.

Thanks for opening the door.....Roger

Well, I did A LOT of reading over the winter, so my intelligence level gained a few points. It's good to know that I still remember something about inspection and repacking of wheel bearings. No hot hubs at all.

As to all the welcomes......Thanks a bunch, folks.
Just hope I don't embarass myself to much with the greenhorn questions.

Roger

Welcome to the forum!
Let's hope yours starts much better than mine did.
Three months after I retired, my then wife was diagnosed with stage three metastatic breast cancer. It did not respond well at all to any treatments, and I lost her to it in Sept. of '20. Have since met a great woman and remarried, but that first year-and-a-half wasn't something I'd wish on a politician.

Just stating facts, ....Roger
