solar panels and power

Hi New to this forum.
We bought the trailer when they first came out and had the dealer add solar panel to keep batteries charges..
It worked great for a number of years and were not sure if it is tied to the cars electrical system or something else but it shorted out and is not working.

Where is a good place besides the dealerships to have this troubleshooted without costing a lot ,so we can decide our options.
We live near huntley illinois.
The dealerships could do it ,but this time of year they are hard to schedule in as they are very busy.
Thanks.

WELCOME TO JOF!!!

The members here are GREAT!!! There is a lot of GREAT information to be found here. I am sure that you will have information and pictures to share with us... so please do!!

Do you know anything about electricity?
Own a Multimeter?
Was the SOLAR install, a kit?
Does it have a SOLAR Charge Controller?
Size of panel (watts)?
Battery(s) Mfr/Ah rating?
Can you trace the wires from the SOLAR panel to the SOLAR Charge controller and battery?
Did they install any fuses?
Can you take a few pictures of the PANEL, Solar Charge Controller, Battery connections?
What is the model of your TT?

The last place you want to have SOLAR installed or worked on is at an RV dealership!!!!!!! You would be better served by getting an electrician to take a look at it.

We can walk you through the trouble shooting process if you would like. Just give us a little more information on the install.

I was born and raised in the SW side of Chicago, Berwyn, Spring Grove (Fox Lake Area)
