Soon to be new SLX 154BH owner

Greetings,

I plan to take delivery of a 2011 Jay Flight Swift 154BH this weekend. I've gone through most the forums here, and already have a good idea of what to expect and some additional accessories that might be necessary.

The TT is an upgrade to a 1993 Coleman Roanoke pop-up that my wife and I bought new. We have two children, and have decided that we want something that's a little easier to pack and setup.

Anyway, I just wanted to introduce myself. I'm sure I'll be hitting the forum up with a lot of questions down the road and I familiarize myself with the camper.

Hey tr4driver! Welcome to the forum. That is a nice upgrade for you and the family and I know you will enjoy it! Lots of friendly folks here, so ask away.

I am going to move your post to the new member forum so everyone has a chance to welcome you.

We have a weekend camping trip planned for the weekend before Labor Day on Greers Ferry Lake here in Arkansas.

Hey Kurt! We picked up our 154 a few weeks ago....you mentioned you have two kids, we also have 2, we have 2 boys, one being "man sized" lol. I suggest the bigger of the 2 sleeping on the bottom bunk, it has more head room.

Btw...if you bring a tv, put the cable wire in, put up the antenna, and make sure to hit that little teeny tiny black button, if not it doesnt work....we learned that the hardway. Lol

It is a great camper with more room than you think, probably because of all the storage inside. We came out of a 2005 viking pop up...this is like a dream even tho it is technically smaller.

Thanks for the advice/info. We have a son and a daughter, and both small enough that the bunks won't be a problem for them. The pop-up we're moving up from has an 8' box, so this will be a big improvement in the storage capacity department (though the pop-up did force us to be efficient campers).

I'll be posting some pictures following our maiden voyage in a couple of weeks.

You will love it. I have a SLX 184BH and am just finishing my first week long trip. It rained for 4 days and it was great. Make sure you get a 3 way site because the Black and Grey water tanks fill quick.

Ok... We got the 154BH home today. Here are a couple of pics (I hope I'm doing this right).

The camper was very well behaved on the 200 mile drive home (my tow vehicle is a Toyota FJ Cruiser).

Thanks for the tips/comments everyone!

Very nice! You might try posting the pics in the "Pics of your Jayco" forum for more views.
