Tankless Frustration

Hello, I'm new to Jayco ownership and new to tankless hot water heater in an RV., I have a 2017 Eagle 5th Wheel, like most everything except the tankless heater.
The bottom line: Not happy with it and want it out and replaced with tanked one. Anybody tell me if they have had any experience with getting Jayco to replace these crappy things under warranty? If so where do I start?
Thanks,

Hello. Congratulations on the new Eagle and welcome to the forum.

As Grumpy said, talk with your dealer.

Thanks,
Poke around and you'll see the following when it comes to the Girard:
- many people dislike it
- a handful of us are OK with it
- several have replaced it with a Suburban 6 gallon
- it looks like the Atwood 6 and 10's might need more mods to fit in
- I recall reading only one or two posts where the message was the dealer swapped it w/out cost. I think most of the other swapper's paid

This is a previous post of mine. Might work for you.

I have a 31FS 2017. The first thing you need to do is open the cover on the outside of the Girard heater. Look down to the lower left of the unit and you will see two black caps, which are the tops of the gas valves. If those caps are all black then they are recalled and Jayco will pay the dealer to do it. The recalled valves are very problematic. The new valves have caps with a white circle around the top of them. Once you have the new valves, get an adjustable water pressure regulator(Renaldo on Amazon) and set it to 45 psi. Adjust the electronic thermostat to the hot water temp you want. Then use hot water only and keep it constantly flowing. Mine works with no problem with this method, but you have to have the new valve setup.

I went out and took a picture. You see the two black gas valves with the metal hold down clamps. Right under the clamps, you see a white plastic circle around the top of the valve. If you don't have that(valves all black), then the valves are recalled and Jayco will pay for it. There's a technical service bulletin on it. Here's a pic of good valves.
