Towing behind fifth wheel
Hello all My wife and I are getting ready to buy our new Pinnacle we have looked at most of the floor plans but have not picket the one we want yet. We are getting ready to go full time, and I want to try to set it up to tow a 12' cargo trailer behind our fifth wheel. I have a bike I would like to put in the trailer. I would love some feed back on that if I could. We have had a 33' Sprinter up till now, but we are really sold on the PInnacle.

Check your state laws on this subject. Some allow it and and some don't and some require different licensing for the driver.

I would think you will have some problems with law enforcement in some states.
Driving around, you see all kinds of stuff being towed on the roads, but I several who have been stopped and advised to make other arrangements to get the double tow off the state roads.

Towing behind fifth wheel
There would be a lot of states where you are unwelcome. And forget backing up.
I have seen motorcycle carriers on the back that look like wheel chair lifts. Drive on, raise up, and go.

Why not go with a toy hauler? They are made just for doing what you want. Jayco has some awesome Seismic's that will haul your bike and gear easily.

Irondog look into the Idaho toteand Rampage lift. Jayco doesn't reccommend putting a lift on the back of your unit if there is more than 10' span behind the rear axle. I own the Idaho Tote and Have no problem from officials in Mi,IN,Ky,Tn La Ark,Tx.I put a HD electra glide classic on it. Tjis unit you can back your trailer up ansd the tote follows thr trailer around.Look up the info @Idaho tote.com

You can "triple-tow" is roughly 30 states. The laws aren't consistent, but it appears the most common is 5th required to be able to pull a second bumper pull trailer. Total complained length <65'. In California, where it s legal, if your trailer (or combination of trailer) is >10k lbs you will need a "non-commercial class A" drivers license. With this license you will be covered for all the states that allow triple towing.
