Unexpected RV Show purchase
Hello all
My wife and I went to the Northeast RV Show in Hartford, CT this past weekend. We didn’t have intentions on buying a TT there, just get some prices and see some layouts to hem and haw over. We’ve rented from Cruise America a half dozen times, so we know we like the RV life. Well, when the dealer (with Jayco rep on-site) matched the price of a similar Grey Wolf unit we were looking at from another dealer, the wife (surprisingly) said “let’s do it” for a 2018 32BHDS.
We pick it up in March. So I have between now and then to A) Find a seasonal site here in CT, as there’s nowhere to park it at home, and B) Learn as much as I can about set up, upkeep, towing, yada yada yada.
I look forward to picking your brains incessantly. Glad I found you all!!

Isn't that always the way it goes? Except for us it's usually me that says it!
Wow, now you have a few moths to plot and plan (and spend money - ain't new hobbies fun?).
Welcome to Team Jayco, Clint! Happy trails!

Congratulations Clint! Nice choice on the 32bhds. As you see I have a 2017.
We've had ours for about a year and a half now. We've had it out quite a bit and find that it suits our family of four (plus an occasional friend or two) very well.
I'd recommend searching on the site for a good PDI check list for when you go to pick it up. Our trailer has settled in pretty well at this point but we have had a few water supply leaking issues that were very frustrating.
I've done a few mods to it as well with many more on the list of things to do.
What do you have for a TV? And have you thought about which WDH you'll go with yet?
The trailer can get heavy pretty quickly as you add your stuff into it. Watch the tongue weight, too, as well as the payload on your TV. Going to the CAT scales is highly recommended.
Welcome to the forum and keep us informed as you roll along.
Cheers,
Jeff

Once you find a seasonal spot, have the dealer deliver it. That way you don't have to worry about weight distribution hitches (WDH) or and tow accessories, unless you plan on taking it out on the road on occasion.

Congrats from CT, did you buy from Vans (Petes RV)? As for a seasonal, there is a KOA up in Copake NY that does seasonal sites and it's nice and family friendly, it'll about 2 hours from you. We go there quite a bit for weekend trips, (we're not seasonal there). The dealer will deliver for you was well, since you're looking to go seasonal, that may be an idea, so you're not buying a truck, hitch, etc. right now

CONGRATULATIONS on the JAYCO!!!
...and WELCOME TO JOF!!! The members here are GREAT!!! There is a lot of GREAT information to be found here. I am sure that you will have information and pictures to share with us... so please do!!
If you have the TT delivered, before that you want to have a DETAILED walk through at the dealership, to insure that there are no issues before transporting it. There is a detailed walk-through list here, make sure they test EVERYTHING, Fridge, water pump, water tanks, radio, AC units, heat, stove, 12Volt operation... see the list and check of each item on it during the walk-through.

Firstly, thank you all for the warm welcome!!
My tv is a 2017 Ram 1500. 5.7 Hemi with 3.92 gears. Per Dodge, I can pull 10,140. So I believe I’m good there and not pushing too many boundaries.
