Water heater bypass valve

Hi my name is clay
Me and my wife just bought a new 2016 jay feather. We were told to winterize but the only thing I can not find is the water heater bypass valve. Can anyone help?

Congratulations on your new Jay Feather and welcome to the JOF!

There are 3 valves that are part of the water heater bypass and they are at the 'back' of the water heater. Hopefully there is someone on the forum that has your same trailer that will have more specific information on accessing those valves. BTW, posting the model of your trailer will be helpful, too.

Look for a way to access the back side of your WH. Maybe in a cabinet or under the booth seat. Whatever is adjacent to the outside WH access. You may have to take a screw or two out.

Here is a diagram: Find the valves, they will be in a utility panel or directly behind the water heater.

Congratulations

Without knowing the exact model tt you have, here is some general info to find the valves.

Often the water heater is behind a secured cabinet enclosure. As others noted, the valves are behind the water heater. Easiest way to find it, is to locate the heater on the outside of the camper. Then go inside to that area and start looking around that area for access. Do not be surprised by the need for a #2 square drive screwsriver. Mine is located under a dinette bench, access is from the top, requiring two screws to be removed. Some are under a bunk bed, I have heard of others behind a false cabinet door.

I left the screws out, after the first access, it makes access much easier now.

Good luck, and happy new years.
