What is this please ?

Hi Folks.
This box is alarming when I put my RV in reverse. I don’t believe it is related to transmission at all. It appears to be an auxiliary electronic gauge which is added to the vehicle. It reads digital numbers to 2 decimal places & it seems to read over for 4 channels. That is to say that it displays the digital numbers in association with a climbing bar graph of cells. Similar to what you might expect if a gauge was displaying battery strength or similar. It seems to have a radio type Ariel on the end of it. Can anyone help me with what this little auxiliary gauge might be reading? I’ll try and add some photos to this thread but I’m posting from my phone.
Thanks very much.
Grant.

After market backup sensor?? Look at year bumper area and see if you have the little round radar sensors.

Welcome Aboard Metson!

I see you are from New Zealand! Is this on a Jayco MH or a tow vehicle? I am kinda assuming a MH. Can you post what make model and year? Did you buy the vehicle new or used?

Jayco makes MHs both in the USA and Australia. I am assuming this is an Australian unit. There are a few Australian members, not a lot on here. Hopefully we can help you out.

I've never seen anything like that device either. It may be exclusive to New Zealand and Australia, and not available here in the US. Let us know if you do find out what it is.

Could it be an FM modulator. I got something similar for my wife's new car since the radio has no auxiliary input. You plug your ancient MP3 player into the front jack and it transmits on a selectable FM frequency. She has some instructional recordings on a special MP3 player that can't be copied so I added it.
