Advertising Playspace Weirdness

Today I noticed that the advertising blocks above and below the recent posts lists were turning black and extending way beyond their normal boundaries.

No content in these boxes.

This caused the postings to be crushed and the top 3 lines of the Recent Postings list to show in inverted colors.

I'm running IE 11 on WIN 8.1

Is it me or is there a real problem that needs fixing?

I'll check for MS updates, install and reboot. Then see what's happening.
Right now the ad box under the list is an empty black rectangle, twice as wide as usual, but normal height.

Got it!

I had Adobe flash turned off.

Now I get an oversized box with a FIOS ad that is as wide as the postings!

Confirmed!

The FIOS ad runs in a box about 2 lines of text taller and double the width of the rest of the ads.

Just the FIOS flash.

It's twice as wide and 3 lines taller than the standard ads on the right side above and below the 'Recent Posts' list.

Can somebody put that piece of software in it's place?!?!

I get no ads on Chrome. On the Edge browser I get them from every side. Some are a little racy!

And 1/2 of them are misleading too.

Fortunately, the racy ones stay well away from 'raunchy'. The DWTS costumes go further in that direction.

But still, the FIOS ad overwhelms the playspace.

What part of "Hooked on a very bad habit" is so tough to comprehend?

The TV show Intervention is made of it!

Yes, that is a bad habit. I think they have doctors for that sort of thing.

My preference is towards CSW's. Since they can't prescribe medication, they tend towards useful therapeutic conversations....

-----------

And the FIOS ad is still exceeding it's boundaries!
