An Idea for the "Welcome" email to Newbies

I would like to suggest that when we send out the "Welcome," after someone joins the forum that we put a short suggestion in regard to "thread titles."

It might read something like this.
When you post, please make the title specific to the subject on which you are asking help. Example; Battery Disconnect Switch or What Kind of Tires. Do not post titles such as "Need Help" or "Problem With Trailer." You will get a much better response if people know that they can help you with the specific problem.

I share your annoyance with those non-specific thread titles. Some people don't understand why their titles should be specific, and I've come to the conclusion that others are non-specific on purpose with the intent of luring more readers.

Either way, I don't like it.

But, as a regular user of a lot of forums covering a wide variety of interests, I've also come to the conclusion that a set of instructions won't help much. The dumb stuff that people do on this forum are the same dumb things that happen on all forums.

Couldn't hurt, though.
