getting onto roof

I purchased a 2018 35S Precept. It does not have a ladder to gain access to roof. Has anyone had a ladder installed.

Yes, two of them on the same trailer. Freshly back from the shop with a newly installed ladder that immediately came into contact with my garage when I backed it in while not paying attention. So I replaced it.

Now that I've learned, I almost wish I hadn't bought the second one as climbing straight up (as opposed to a regular leaning ladder) kinda scares me...

I think a good idea is to carry a collapsible ladder. I have a ladder on the camper but I don't use it.

From what I've read here (and you'd have to search), folks have added ladders to existing rigs. I believe if you don't get a ladder initially, Jayco still installs the backing needed to support a ladder. You'd have to call Jayco directly to see if this is the case with your particular model.

A collapsible ladder will serve you well. Much more versatile at the camp site, camper rooftop, slide-outs, trimming a branch, etc.

I was going to suggest the same thing. My trailer has a ladder, but its pretty low quality and I'm not all that happy with 2 holes in the rubber roof and associated maintenance with that.

My father-in-law has a collapsible ladder that he uses, it seems far more convenient. For the most part I need to get access to the slide roof to clean off debris after trips. With an attached ladder I need to climb the ladder then walk across the roof to get to the slide out. With a collapsible ladder I can lean it directly next to the slide, climb up a couple rungs and blow off the roof. Easy peasy, no extra maintenance and its cheaper than the installed ladder!
