New Ad overlays

Whats up with the new Advertisements that are covering the bottom 20% of JOF? page. <Chrome Browser, Win-7> and when you are scrolled anywere in the page and close the ad to see the rest of JOF, the entire page is restarted at the top. - losing your place on the forum. VERY ANNOYING!

Here is the code that is causing this - in the setup of the AdWare:

<iframe id="google_ads_iframe_/1007032/SK_728x90_Bottom_Primary_0" title="3rd party ad content" name="google_ads_iframe_/1007032/SK_728x90_Bottom_Primary_0" width="728" height="90" scrolling="no" marginwidth="0" marginheight="0" frameborder="0" srcdoc="" data-google-container-id="6" style="border: 0px; vertical-align: bottom;" data-load-complete="true"></iframe>

The JOF must be getting pretty popular. I agree it's annoying but I understand that ads =$. This forum ads are miniscule compared what I encounter on other forums. On FTE for example sometimes I can't even get a page to load because of all the ads, lol.

I bet this Forum could survive without ads if it asked for donations and was then member supported

Forum staff: Don't take my OP to be saying that JOF or any of the partner forums should eliminate the AD content... my point is that the footer ad (and also the header ad) that is hosted by G is coded to be in focus over the content of the forum (at 728x90)- until it the frame is closed. It will obscure the JOF content until responded to - and then the script puts focus back at the top.

Edit: yea... used to host, admin and support for many years writing code w/ vBulletin. Every version upgrade seems to result in this or something similar. not on 5.5.2

We're looking at some options to reduce ad visibility for JOFs active members. Thanks for your input

I wish RV Life in the slow lane would go away. Still shows the guy in his RV at Christmas!

Thanks, Janet. For me, every little bit helps in both reducing transmission times and data usage. However, I did receive a surprise today.

Consumer Cellular raised their maximum data plan from 20GB to 25GB/mo. and lowered its cost $2.00/mo. from $40.00 to $38.00.

If you’re a Supporting member there’s no ads.

I second that motion! I'm not sure why, but his picture always being there is annoying!

Read the title---RV Life in the Slow Lane. Nothing about rapid changes in articles.

And Generalissimo Francisco Franco is trying for the breath holding record (1st seasons of SNL).
