New Forum Software!!!!

Stopped by sister site, Forest River, and it has FINALLY been updated to 2020's forum software!!!

If you have an account here, it would be the same on the other sister sites.

It's a soooooooooo much better forum using the newer XenForo porting.

Easier to navigate, pictures can be copied and pasted within a post, and the list goes on and on.

I'd imagine the Jayco forums will get this amazing update soon.

So, if your not familiar with XenForo forums, you might jump over there and get familiarized with the software port.

Posting pictures could be easier on the current software, but I'm fine with the rest.

Long overdue... This version has been around since the early 2000's

Exactly!!! Very outdated. While vBulletin was great 20 years ago, XenForo is lightyears ahead of it.

The new forum software is fully responsive and doesn't need tapatalk. There is an app but really, it's the mobile view of the full site WITH all the site functions. It's fairly robust and easy to use - big improvement

So when can we expect this new software Janet? Maybe be for Xmas
This format works fine for me now that I get the picture thing
What does "fairly robust" and "fully responsive" mean? Sounds senior friendly

I don't have an exact date but the RV LIFE forums are all being updated with new software, some have already been updated. It's long overdue as this current software is ancient. It won't be before the holidays and will most likely be in the Jan/Feb 2025 time frame.

Fully responsive means that the site works just as well on mobile devices. In the past mobile applications of sites generally sacrificed some functions in service of the small screen. This problem has finally been addressed

Absolutely true.

XenForo works as good on a mobile device as it does a laptop/desktop computer.

Although, the layout is somewhat a little different.

As with all software, when updating to a different/new format, it takes some getting used to.

I've personally been involved/used XenForo since it was introduced.
Jeez, probably 5 years or so now.

So much better than vBulletin.

Of course, like all new software, XenForo has gone through some big growing pains.
