New picture sizes

Wow, my android camera keeps taking larger and larger sized pics, up to 29 megabytes, over 9000 pixels.
As you know the photo manager likes to keep its pics around 5 mg and 1200 pixels. It can do some reduction but not this much. I'm having a heck of a time cropping, resizing and shrinking them while keeping what I want to show in the post.
There has to be an easier way.

On a Windows computer, I can usually reduce a photo's size by displaying the image using any photo software (App) and then use the Snipping Tool to make a copy that can be pasted or saved.

If you need to resize an image, open a new document or email with MS Word or Outlook, and insert your image. Then, click anywhere on the inserted image to get the borders to show and click and drag the borders to shape it to the desired size. For a menu of other editing functions and to copy/save your work, right click anywhere inside your image.

My android phone (samsung) has a tool in the edit screens to resave as a smaller file size (lower resolution)

Open the photo and click on the edit icon to pull up the image editor and then look for the small options menu. Choose a smaller size.

Also if you are on Windows, you can install the Windows PowerToys (https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/powertoys/) which includes an Image Resizer which allows you to right click on the picture and change the size of it very simply. This will also reduce the file size.

I've been watching out for this! Thank you thr note. (The pics are still a little big, over 1200 x 1200 at 20% but they are much better).

Well, the fantasy was good while it lasted. It's doesn't reduce it enough for this site.
