"New Posts" and threads not being listed

Sometimes I can't find posts in "New Posts" that I believe should be there. For example, today I was looking for this thread . It was not listed in "New Posts", but I could find it by searching. The last post to the thread in question was at 10:49 today; at the 10:49 location in "New Posts" there was one post at 10:49 (clicky, but not the post I was trying to find.

Further info: if I click "Todays Posts" under Quick Links the post is there; but still if I click "New Posts" on the amber menu line the post is not there.

Anything I should know or do?

One thing I do when I want to refer back to a thread is I right click on the thread and create a short-cut and then place it in a file that I labeled Forum Info

Yea, it doesn't update very good. It was driving me nuts looking for posts I know were posted recently.

Once you view a thread, it will no longer show up as a New Post until someone posts something new to it. I always just use the Today's Posts.

Well, if this whole "today's posts" thing isn't a game changer for me, then I don't know what is. I've been mumbling to myself with many of the same complaints as the OP. Great information and problem solved! Thanks to all.
