Postings in wrong forums
Hello, is there an someone who looks at whether threads are posted in the correct forum and move them if not? Or make sure a thread stays on topic? The Jayco Class C forum is a mishmash of C, trailer, 5W. Some knowledge flows across lines but there are some significant differences which could result in incorrect or misleading information.

Yes, we are watching. Taking action when deemed appropriate without being big brother.
Members can also help by pointing out things as you did.
Thanks.

Just my 2 cents...
I completely agree with you on this. But what needs to be remembered is this. Some people on here have owned pop-ups and now own a 5th wheel. Some have owned Class C's and now have a travel trailer. Some have a Class A motorhome now after owning a toy hauler. What I'm getting at is, me for example, I've owned a pop-up but now have a TT. So could I help answer a question in the pop-up forum? Sure I could. I may know more about them than the person asking the questions. I think everyone on here means well and most have fantastic advice. Myself, I don't care if you own a 757 Boeing but used to have a Class C. If your advice is spot on, I'm using it. Or at least contemplating it. I've worked for Ford Motor Company for most of my life. There's not alot someone can say to me about Ford's that I don't already know. Now, I understand if someone asks, "The seat in my Greyhawk moves around alot, anyone else have this problem?" and someone that owns a pop-up chimes in with a suggestion. I get that. But, what if it was me? You may know more about your Class C Greyhawk than I do, but I may know more about your Ford.
Just something to keep in mind.
Happy Camping!

TWP723. I don't have a problem with what you said. The post I am referring to was a trailer question, a new thread, posted to the class C forum. Wrong place. All I'm saying is there ought to be someone who tells the folks they did an "ooops".
I have a bigger peeve with thread stealers…"BTW anyone have this other problem?" Someone may be able to help but not interested in the thread they just buried it in.

Oh, I hear ya on that. I agree. It's almost impossible to find "the other problem" in threads that have nothing to do with the original post.

Did you ever identify the thread? Was it moved or not. Let me know and I'll look at it.

Turns out it was my error. Eagle is a reused brand name within Jayco. At one time Eagle was a MH. Confused me. Would have helped if all posters had signature lines.

Not a real big deal but it gets to me, when you can't tell what state someone is located in.
No offense WaltW, but I have no idea what state you're in (unless I click your name). Its not that you didn't include it, it doesn't show up under your name on posts. If you click on the name you can see where someone's from, but it's a pain.
The join date is there for some reason, but not the home state?

The location on posts is an option. You can put whatever state, province, city etc you choose. Some choose not to have a location on their posts.

I understand what you mean Crabman. You could enter whatever you like under the area for city.
It just seems more important to me to see out of the three things listed under the name in each post the members state and city over seeing when the member signed up and the city.
No big deal, it's just a pet peeve.

You also have to consider that full-timers really don't have a state of residency- except for mailing and taxing purposes. Many use a (snail) mail forwarding service to receive their mail where they currently are. Their home is (as someone has in their signature) "where they park it".
In my own situation, I currently live at two locations; so my city is just a general location of where they both are.
And on the subject of "Posting In Wrong Forums", I'm amazed of the number of posts made to this particular forum (mostly by newbies) that I have to move to elsewhere. They don't seem to notice that this forum is entitled "Forum Admin and Announcements". Yet, I constantly find posts here on RV topics which have absolutely nothing to do with admin and announcements.

Not everyone understands how forums are set up, or how they work, especially when new. To those of us who frequent forums on a regular basis, and are familiar with them, what seems like common sense to us may not be so obvious to a newer member. I am amazed at how wadded up some members get when someone posts in the wrong sub-forum. Really, it's not a big deal. It's okay to just answer their questions without dressing them down for being in the wrong sub-forum. I see this on all sorts of forums, not just this one, and it's actually quite irritating.

I know. You can't see unless you look at my profile.
I didn't mean that you should have included your state under the area for city.
I think the website should automatically show the members state as well as the city
