Random Album Picture
On the forum’s home page, I click on the down arrows at the right of the bar to minimize the Random Album Picture, and every Sunday... the pictures mysteriously reappear. Is anyone else experiencing this? I use Firefox and Safari and and it happens with both, although, I suspect it’s something going on with vBulletin.

I have never considered minimizing it. Every now and again a picture will get my attention enough to click on it. I wonder if all panels have the same option?
I use the Google browser mostly. I also have the Edge browser but dislike it more and more.
I just minimized the panel to see when it comes back.

The selection you made to minimize the images is remember via a cookie set on your system. My guess is that your system has some security or virus scheme running weekly that purges the cookie. It's possible That even a system restart could trigger the cookie purge.

Sorry, Janet, But I think my answer to your possibilities is "D). None of the above". I experience this with both the windows computer and all the iOS devices. While the reset may be occurring from one of the iOS devices because they're always on or in sleep mode, the Windows computer is powered completely off when not in use using the switch on my power center, so there's no standby and no need to turn off the computer either from the "button" on top or rocker switch behind the unit. Norton 360 runs on all my devices, and I have both Firefox and Safari on the iOS devices, but only Firefox (it's my default browser) on the windows computer where occasionally MS Edge starts immediately after logging on but it can't get to the Internet because I haven't started the Personal Hotspot on the iPhone yet.
I'll have to keep scratching around to see what I can find... if anything.

Tomorrow's the "big day", so I'll be watching for the pictures to reappear on here as time, weather and money permits. Since I have both Firefox and Safari on my iPhone, I'll try to bring JOF up with Firefox first instead of Safari that I usually use.

Well, late this morning on my iPhone, I used Firefox and brought up JOF... No pictures appeared in the Random Album Picture. Then, I tried the same thing using Safari... No pictures again.
Later that afternoon, I used Safari, bought up JOF and guess what? PICTURES!

I don't have much of an issue with the Random Album bar....but the unstoppable pop-up ads on Google Chrome are going to push me to the limit! Especially when they overlay posted photos when I try to enlarge them for better detail and I cannot minimize or close them.

Test Results on Sunday, October 25, 2020
Brought up JOF in the early afternoon, first with Firefox, then with Safari. No pictures appeared using either browser. Repeated the same test after 7:00 PM. No pictures using Firefox. Pictures appeared using Safari.

Still having the Random Album Pictures mysteriously appear every Sunday and I click the arrow to minimize them. They remain that way until the next Sunday. Doesn't appear there's anyone with an explanation or an uneducated quess as to why this is occurring.

I guess I've never minimized them Frank. I glance at them periodically, wondering why my pictures don't appear since I became a mod. Not a big deal at all, just a curiosity.
