A little tip that I was taught on backing trailers.

1) Place your had on the bottom of the steering wheel.
2) move your hand to the left (turn right) to make the trailer go left.
3) move your hand to the right (turn left) to make the trailer go right.

And use all the runway you are given........ Allows for lots of smaller adjustments versus large ones that end up requiring large counter steering

"move the bottom of the steering wheel in the direction you want the trailer to go". Same as above but that was the saying I was taught.
