While hiking out west I always wondered how to tell the difference between a BROWN and BLACK bears feces. NOW I KNOW!!!

Talking

Too funny, especially seeing as to how the west is my stomping grounds.

Have heard that their feces often has L.L.Bean buttons in it.

So, if you are hiking in the woods and hear bells ringing, it's either another hiker or the Grizzly taking a dump?

Those STUPID bear bells should be called DINNER BELLS

While hiking in the woods always think safe. A 44mag will make you bear proof.

When we visited Yellowstone we were in one of their stores that sold Bear Bells. I noticed that a few of the ones on the display didn't ring as they were missing the little metal ball inside. I commented to the clerk that they sold two types of bells. Ones for people you liked and ones for people you didn't like. She said she didn't understand what I mean as they only sold one type of bell. So I told her that several of the bells they were selling didn't jingle. (No they weren't the kind that you could silence). She immediately began testing bells and removing them from their stock.

Ha.. Ha... Ask the rangers about the effectiveness of bear bells. You need a bear gong. Those little tinkly things are overrun by the sound of moving water and wind.

You don't see Rangers in Yellowstone and Glacier sporting bells. They do talk loudly to themselves
