Deer Hunting

Two deer hunters were standing on a ridge near a highway in rural Illinois on the opening day of deer season. They both spotted a large 10-point buck coming toward them. As the one hunter raised his gun to shoot, a funeral procession came slowly by on the highway. The hunter lowered his gun, took off his hat, and stood with his head bowed until the procession had passed. Of course, by then, the deer was long gone.

The other hunter exclaimed, "Wow! That was the most sportsmanlike act I've ever seen! You are a great humanitarian and a shining example to sportsmen throughout the world!"

The first hunter smiled and replied, "Well, out of respect, we were married for 42 years."

Opening day is a major event and can't be missed.

But funerals? I can take 'em or leave 'em.

I can assure you this could happen in Alabama.

I'm glad I'm not a deer hunter, but it is fun to watch those that are.
