Some clash teams bring three cars to Daytona. Big teams have “blank” cars at the shop if needed. Ready to go just have to be wrapped applied for which driver/ sponsor needs it and hauled to Daytona.

Don't a lot of older cars get sent down to lower series, like ARCA or K&N, so there's still a value in them?

That's how it used to be. But with these cars being so new not sure the teams could afford to buy them

NASCAR is using, and has been using 6th Gen chassis and engines since the 2013 season, so some of these 'cars' are 'getting old'. Dodge chose to leave the sport instead of develop a new car, and that is when Penske returned to Ford using the Gen2 Fusion. GM started using the Holden based SS, and at the end of 2017 moved to the Camaro. Ford followed suit a year later , moving to the Mustang. All the manufacturer did was reskin the car
7th Gen NASCAR is explained here: https://autoweek.com/article/nascar/...e-and-schedule

Camping at Alanta MS

Taking a look at attending the upcoming Atlanta race. Will be my first race at Atlanta so looking for input about family camping. Prefer outside the track just to avoid a lot of the hoopla [have family and dogs]. Any advice or suggestions?

Speaking about dogs and the track, has anyone had experience bringing their 4 legged creature to race weekend camping? Wondering how it works out and if there were issues.

We are locked and loaded for Richmond in April, and I'm on the fence if I'm bringing poochie along. We're doing some sight seeing a few days before getting to the track, so he would be fine there. But wondering the two days camping at the track, if it will be a pain and not a good place for him?

Anyone have experience?

Got my dog on a Friday evening in May 2017. She was about 5 weeks old. We left for Texas Motor Speedway on the following Tuesday. She did fine as we were off turn 3 and far enough away the Indy car sounds didn't scare her. She became socialized with people and other dogs. She's been to Phoenix as well. We crate her when we travel, but she 'roams' inside the TT while we are gone.

I'd say for the past 5 yrs or so we've seen more dogs at Darlington than ever before. People walkin em around all day long in the camp ground. A few people have those fences put up so their dog can stay outside without being on a leash. I think its kool because I've seen a lot of pretty boxers. Makes me miss ours that much more. An everybody picks up after them so there's no worry there. Campground stays clean.
Don't see too many at Atlanta where we are but I've seen em their to

The tracks will just remove MORE seats, like they've been doing all the past years. Attendance has been WAY down, the TV coverage tries their best not to show half empty seats during the races.

This is the result when you let a third generation family member come in and run, oops, destroy a sport his grandfather started.....

I know we're not suppose to sway into politics, but this might just be newsworthy...

President Trump will be the Grand Marshall for the 500 and will give the command to start engines. He is only the second President to attend the race (Bush did back in 2004, I think).

There is also a Trump sponsored Truck in tonight's race and a Trump sponsored car in the Xfinity race on Saturday..

First President to be Grand Marshal. I say go for it.
I've just been happy watchin a race without someone telling us what he would do or what the driver should do or say. Just call the damn race nobody cares what an old driver driving a cheated up car would do. At some point no matter how hard someone tries to be relevant it just doesn't work

Thankfully, the other washed up has been driver with a long history of cheating will be gone this year.

See ya JJ #48. Don't let the door smack you on the way out.

Very true. Of course, Byron ended up in victory lane last night with Chad on the box.

But don't worry...they always have JJ's heart rate to monitor.
