Another example of the press trying to shape public opinion.

Got an email this week from Phoenix this week. They’re doing limited capacity for the championship weekend; I’ve heard 20%. They’re prioritizing season ticket holders by tenure of how long you’ve had your tickets. I’ll probably get screwed out of being able to attend because mine aren’t considered season tickets because I have different seats for each race. They’ll still have camping but no infield access.

I called today and was told they won’t change the capacity if a vaccine is out prior to the race.

I was at Phoenix in March, they have called and e-mailed me to renew for next season at a discount. Told mark I will not consider anything until NASCAR does not cow toe to BLM and permits display of the Confederate flag. His response was, not up to me and I don't think they are ready to do either yet.

Sounds like you're not going to be attending a race anytime soon...

Same with me....

Looks like the TV viewing audience feels the same way:

...."Last Saturday’s NASCAR Cup Series race at Daytona averaged a 2.4 rating and 3.87 million viewers on NBC, marking the lowest rated edition of the race formerly known as the Firecracker 400 since at least 1997 and the least-watched since at least 2000 (excluding rainouts).

Ratings fell 11% and viewership 13% from 2018, the last time the race was run as scheduled (2.7, 4.44M)."

Note: This was the cut off race for making the Chase, and still had low numbers..

Bubba leaving Richard Petty at the end of the season...

Now, who's going to be crazy enough to pick him up for next year?

Denny Hamlin forms a new team along with Michael Jordan, and puts Bubba in the seat...

There are no words...

Until MJ sees how unprofitable a losing race team is. There have even been several former drivers who actually knew about racing try to start teams and couldn’t keep up with the funding. I’m sure this will be short lived. MJ will see how much it costs to have a losing driver and close up shop in a couple seasons.

MJ is a very smart businessman so he and Denny will have a business plan in place. With the sponsors already signed on with Bubba, Toyota, technical support from JGR, and additional sponsors that MJ will bring they have the backing. That’s what is great about the country we live in you can start a business if you want.

I'm sure they will have a business plan. I also hope MJ, Hamlin and the sponsors like to burn through money, and be more interested in virtue signalling versus being competitive and winning races. They, most likely, will be successful in the former and not the latter.

Bubba, right now, is 23rd in points, 1 top 5, 5 top 10s, 4 laps led, average finish 20th, 0 race wins, 0 stage wins.

Michael McDowell is having a better year than Bubba. What does that tell you?

LOL.... "heavy competition"...

Adam Stern
@A_S12

.@NBCSN earned a 1.15 rating and 1.97 million viewers (TV only) for Sunday's @SouthPointLV 400 at Las Vegas, down from a 1.4 and 2.38 million last year, as NASCAR deals with heavy competition.

Hmmm, I wonder if NASCAR is reevaluating their new "WOKE" policy...

UPDATE: Last Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series playoff race on the Charlotte Roval averaged a 1.7 rating and 2.78 million viewers on NBC, marking the lowest rated race at the track since at least 1999 and the least-watched since at least 2001. Ratings fell a tick and viewership 8% from last year (1.8, 3.02M).

Also wondering if all those NEW Bubba fans are still tuning in?

Well, this is sounding like an anti-NASCAR thread.

Unsubscribing.

Decided to stir the pot and get things boiling again! Last laps of Sunday’s race. Dillion blocking the leader and radio announcer said he was trying to stay on lead lap. Wrong. He was blocking Almirola the leader trying to help Bell catch Almirola and hopefully pass him to win. If Bell had won Dillion would be above the play off bubble for now.

I don't know why Dillon would want to hurt or help either one. They aren't teammates, not to mention also in different makes of cars. Honestly, I didn't see him block Almirola, just stole the preferred line. He didn't get out of the way. I'm no Dillon fan, just calling as I saw it. No matter, Aric got the win he deserved.
