Gas is $108.9 a litre here in Calgary, but the price on the world market was up to-day, so have no idea what it will be to-morrow. Sure glad we have the oil sands here in Alberta, as it keeps our taxes down.

Just got back to Kansas. $3.59 in Hutchinson today. I've seen it around that price today in Arkansas and Oklahoma too. That's for diesel.

Fuel might just be to expensive for me to go home... unless ICE throws me on a flat deck and tows me home:lightning:

I know we are beating a dead horse here, but I was listening to a talk show yesterday and they had a person who tracks, oil and fuel prices and unfortunately has been right in the past, and he suggests that oil prices may rise to $150.00 a barrel for West Texas crude in the next several months if the Middle East continues. He had previously predicted that 150 would be reached over the next 5 years, but this was prior to this latest problem. Brent crude has been going for more on European markets but this oil is poor quality.

If this continues I can see the end of RV travel as we know it. Too bad but reality has to sink in.

Anyone remember the Oil Embargo circa 1973?
Line ups for hours to get a tank of gas, many gas stations which ran dry.
Hope we don't get that again!

Oh yuh! That isn't a fun memory.

Could you imagine heading home after being on the road far from home? I guess it that piece of history re-plays itself, we will definitely be doing "Camp Driveway" for a while :nike:

Well, that year, our family took the pop-up trailer south to the Florida Keys for March break. Couldn't miss that!
Filled up in Ontario, then again in KY, and after about 20 hours of driving we were near the FLA border. Didn't really have trouble finding gas, but we were well aware it was hit-or-miss. One of our friends installed an auxiliary gas tank in their motorhome, so they could carry 80 gallons, and make it to FLA.
After that year, your gov't established the strategic oil reserves.
Some crazy Canuks will do anything to go south & get away from the winter weather. I tell KathyDiane, that taking our new trailer to FLA, is one of my bucket list items.

Diesel here in Rock Port Texas is $3.79. Well we have a 1300 mile trip home in three weeks. Just wonder how the ride will be ??
I'm thinking the 15,500 mile run to Alaska this summer might be Pricey.

Well like an Old Guy told me once" Kid you will be out of time before your out of Money"
So we look at it like this we're going right after the wifes check up.

Still looking for our childhood !!!

What Happens If You Need Fuel at the Wrong Place in Cali!

Check out the prices at one station we saw here near where we are camping in the Inland Empire of Southern California

Best price for regular gas near here is currently $3.87 (for the past 5 days anyhow )

For the last month, we have been paying the equivalent of $4.40 per US gallon. This summer, we plan to make two of the "one tank" trips (one tank each way), and several half tank trips. Still cheaper and more fun than a hotel style vacation.
