There are few hobbies that get in your blood/identity the way riding does. Also, much like the RV hobby, you meet some great people.

Thank you so much! I'm glad to hear YOU'RE healing, and may the motorcycle gods look down favorably on you!
Incredible! I had an '81 CB900C two bikes ago. I too loved it. I used the aux transmission like an overdrive gear. It took me all the way around the great lakes in 9 days. It was 3000 miles on the odo when I got home.
My girlfriend at that time, lost her husband to a motorcycle accident two years prior, caused by a drunk driver. Left her with three young boys. She wouldn't even go near it, or even look at it. I didn't blame her one bit. So that's why it got sold. Oh, to have that one again!

That's the truth! It's like the camper brotherhood, but on two wheels (or three)!
Just knowing it's in the garage makes me feel better, but I can only play with so many toys.

I totally get it. Good for you. I have an 08 HD Ultra Classic and due to using our 2011 Jayco 19RD, I haven’t ridden much. I sure miss it as well.

Glad you are riding again. I can’t seem to make enough time to ride the BMW Lt k1200. I start feeling bad and think I should sell it. Then I ride it and think “no freaking way am I letting this beast go”. What a thrill it is to ride. There was a time when I would i would have never considered a trike. But now as my knees/back become a little less cooperative ....I can maybe see something like that down the road. Just saying.

Congrats on getting back out and in the wind!! I currently have a 2007 H-D UltraCouch with Sidecar and a '69 PanShovel. There is no way I could not ride again!! It is definitely my biggest stress relief! I also teach Motorcycle Safety Foundation rider courses. Once motorcycling is in your blood it is almost impossible to get out! Whether you decide to keep your 'Wing, trike it or trade to a trike, enjoy the ride!!!

Thanks! I'm on my 8th bike since I was able to get my license, and it definitely in my blood. As much as I should sell it, I hate to be without it. Especially that now I know I can ride again. I calculate it to be a nick above 10K to have her triked, and have been looking at cycle dealers on the internet for Wings already done up.

Motorcycling is hard to get away from once you are a rider. Glad to hear you got back on. This is what we took with us to Colorado last summer and this summer...

Sweet looking FJR, and trailer. I bet you look in your mirror every corner, to make sure it's still behind ya!

Hey, you never know. You may just do that, and maybe we'll meet up down the road by accident somewhere!

You will never regret having a trike. I had a Goldwing Trike for many miles and my only regret is selling it.

I've heard that a lot. Pretty much from everybody that has one! They all said they wished they'd gotten one years ago.
Maybe I'll get one instead of the 45' Prevost!! LOL

The DW seems to think so, too! I thought she really wanted an ungodly huge diesel pusher too. Ya know, when they say NO, but REALLY mean yes???

Ha! I keep my rear camera on full time to keep an eye on the trailer and FJR!
Took me a while to figure out how much easier it was to load it up by using the rear jacks. Now I crank it way up so the rear of the trailer is much lower. Makes it far simpler to ride up into the wheel chocks.
And we love our folding trailer (Kendon) too.

I have a Kendon as well. Great bike trailer. Very easy to store in the garage, too.

As riders get older, I highly recommend getting a smaller dual sport motorcycle, such as the Honda CRF250L or the BMW 310GS. They are both fun reliable easy to handle bikes. I actually own both at the moment. I have found I get more pleasure from riding down gravel roads vs the oil boom filled traffic highways we have around here. It's safer and much less stressful.
But hey, I ride a big bike too. I'm just offering alternatives for those looking for lighter bikes to ride as you age.
No matter what you ride, be careful out there!
