I remember watching John Wayne in "The Fighting Seabees" with dad, and he said "that's what I used to do". That's about the extent of his willingness to talk about the war.

Very sorry for your loss.

I am a retired USAF vet. I am very sorry for your loss. Your Dad was veteran in a class of their own. A generation of men and women who served for a calling greater than their own. My hat is off and I am filled with gratitude for men like your Dad who paved the way for vets like myself. May Gods peace and love be upon you and your loved ones at this season in your lives.
