Audio Books

Just wondering if anyone else here listens to audio books on a regular basis. I'm always on the road and have grown rather tired of the same old music on the radio all the time. My daughter purchased a subscription to Audible and I find that I am using it quite a bit.

Does anyone else listen to audio books at home or while driving like I do?

The DW listens to them quite often. I have listened to two but finding the time is the issue at present.

I listen to the Bible on CDs while on the road if there's no conversation going on or I'm alone.

I have some but find it bad when I am also reading a similar book (at night in the RV). I like my XM sat radio all kinds of music plus you never have to search as it is always the same channel. My current favorite is the olde tyme radio dramas.

Yes, I use OverDrive to check out audio books from public libraries, also listen to podcasts on the app. Libby is another app that borrows from public libraries, I haven't used it though so I can't say how it compares to OverDrive.

Right now I've been listening to Mark Twain of all things. Tom Sawyer and now Huckleberry Finn. I haven't read those in 35+ years probably. It's really interesting to hear the stories again after all of these years.

It's been over 5 decades since I read those books, too. I saw something about Samuel Clemens (and Mark Twain ) the other day and I'm thinking about reading them (yes, paper books!).

I used to listen to them a lot when I was driving over the road full time. Then XM Radio came around!! Loved the XM, especially the Oldies Classic stories, but I still listen to audio books while I am driving. Just have to watch which ones with little ears in the truck!
